The Large Room, City Hall – Monday 21st August from 2pm to 4pm
As part of the Arts Council’s strategic plan Making Great Art Work, there was an undertaking to review the Festival and Events Scheme. A period of consultation took place between February–April 2017 and the report and its recommendations have now been accepted by Council. As a result the scheme will change from October 2017 and the Arts Council are hosting funding clinics in six locations between August and October to communicate these changes. There will be a number of key differences to the old scheme and attendance at one of our clinics would be advised. There will be a chance to go through the application process and a Q&A session to follow.
One of the most important changes to the scheme is that for all festivals planning to apply to this scheme and host work in 2018, there will only be one deadline instead of two. (It is anticipated that bi-annual funding rounds will be reintroduced next year for festivals taking place in 2019). Applications for the scheme will open on Tuesday 26 September 2017 and close on Thursday 26 October 2017.
If you were a festival that normally applied through the previous scheme in February for festivals taking place between July–December of the following year, please be aware that you can only submit your application in October.
