pROject spAce: TEMPORALITY
Exhibition dates: 27 April – 2nd May 2026
Official opening reception Wednesday 29 April 2026, 6–8pm. No invitation needed, all very welcome.
pROject spAce: TEMPORALITY is a collaboration between SETU Waterford Visual Art Programme Third Year students and GOMA Waterford.
pROject spAce: TEMPORALITY is rooted in the core themes of the adjoining modules key to year three of the programme: Research Becoming Object and Object Becoming Art. These sequential and connected learning components serve as guides for the student artists as they navigate the transformative and evolutionary process inherent in artistic practice, progressing from research to the exploration of intimate connections with materials and objects, and ultimately, to the realisation of art.
The exhibition format revolves around the notion of temporality, the state of existing within the confines of time. For this experiment, each artist will invite the viewer to engage, explore and find their place within the ever-shifting stream of consciousness. Whether it be yearning about the past, thinking of the present or envisioning the future, each piece is about experiencing, embodying and negotiating with time. This format emphasises the interconnectedness of such a concept as the accumulation of each artist’s research, objects and art, while also serving as a platform to reflect on the themes and methodologies explored in the two modules.
pROject spAce: TEMPORALITY runs at GOMA Waterford from Monday 27 April – Saturday 2 May | Official launch: Wednesday 29 April, 6–8pm, all welcome.
Regular gallery opening hours: 11am–5pm, Tuesday– Saturday | Admission free
