Waterfordarts.com is the voice of the Waterford arts service that is provided by Waterford City and County Council. The site offers up-to-date news on Arts Service programmes as well as information on the arts in Waterford and beyond.

Waterford’s Arts Office continues our commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural expression across the county, strengthening our relationship with the arts that is deep, distinctive, and accessible. The arts are an integral part of our service provision, enriching civic life, strengthening communities, and ensuring that creativity remains central to how we plan, deliver, and imagine the future of our county. 

Artists and arts organisations make an essential contribution to the local economy, by supporting employment, attracting visitors, animating our towns and villages, and helping to build strong creative industries. 

Through sustained investment in the arts, we are fostering a culturally rich society that values innovation, expression, and participation, while enhancing Waterford’s reputation as a dynamic and creative place to live, work, and visit. 

Local authority Arts Offices serve as essential links between national policy and community level engagement. We achieve this by implementing programmes that reflect both local needs and national cultural goals. 

The Arts Office, supported by Waterford City & County Council, will continue to nurture this partnership and support a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable arts sector that reflects the creativity of our people and contributes to the social, cultural, and economic wellbeing of the city and county.
