We haven’t had an earthquake lately… Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing 2018 invites readers to share feel-good poetry and prose – Submission deadline extended

What’s your favourite thing to do when you need to feel good, be inspired or comforted?  If it’s to turn to a piece of writing, then the Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing 2018 wants you!  The festival is calling on all avid readers to submit their favourite piece of writing (not self-written) for consideration for We haven’t had an earthquake lately…., the flagship event of the festival which celebrates the joy of reading, taking place at The Book Centre, Waterford, on Friday 12 October.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Monday 01 October.  

Submissions should be emailed to what@hse.ie  with “Earthquake” in the subject line.  Successful applicants will be invited to share their selections with the public at this popular annual event, which is kindly supported by The Book Centre, Waterford. Poet-in-Residence at Waterford Healing Arts Trust, Edward Denniston, will be the Guest MC for the evening. The Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing runs from 8-13 October 2018 . Established in 2013, it is presented by Waterford Healing Arts Trust, Garter Lane Arts Centre and Waterford City and County Libraries.  The festival has become a landmark event in the Waterford calendar, with events taking place throughout the city and county celebrating the benefits of participation in the arts by all.
