On the Razzle Auditions
If you fancy going on the razzle in Vienna but can’t afford the real thing, then make a date at Garter Lane Theatre instead. Saturday, March 2nd is the day when auditions will be held for Tom Stoppard’s comic masterpiece, On the Razzle. Set in Vienna in the mid-nineteenth century, On The Razzle was first produced in Waterford by Red Kettle Theatre Company in 1989 and has leading, minor and walk-on roles for some thirty actors, along with a pantomime horse and a brass band sextet!
Rehearsing from April 6th and opening at Garter Lane for a two week run on June 11th next, On The Razzle will be directed by Jim Nolan and produced by Garter Lane Theatre in association with the city and county’s amateur drama groups and with the support of the Arts Council and Waterford City Council. Auditions for the production will take place at Garter Lane Theatre between 11am and 6pm on Saturday 2nd March and director, Jim Nolan, is keen to stress that roles will be on offer to actors of varying levels of experience and none.
