Online events, 12th to 15th November 2021

The 15th Annual Waterford Film Festival will run online from Friday the 12th to Monday the 15th of November.
The festival will be presenting free and paid events including online screenings of 160 short films from around the world. This is made up of 110 Irish films and 50 international films from award-winning and debut filmmakers. There is a fantastic mix of films to choose from with a variety of genres and themes.
There are a total of 12 short programme, each with 12 to 15 short films with a duration of 2hr and 15mins on average.
How To Watch:
The platform works similar to Netflix. You select a programme you wish to watch, create an account with an email address and password and pay the fee with secure payment options including Stripe & PayPal. You can sign up at anytime but the films will only be available to view during the festival period. Also on the platform are trailers for each programme in the Free Content Section of the catalogue.

You can sign up to the platform from the 29th of October but the films will only be available to view between 12-15 November.
The festival will also be hosting a virtual workshop “The Craft Of Film Acting” An online class aimed at new and emerging actors, covering the craft of screen acting, together with very useful and practical tips. The tutor is film director Ronan O’Leary (Driftwood, A Sunken Place).

In The Waterford Film Festival screenplay competition 70 projects were selected to be Semi-Finalists. From this selection 20 Finalists will be chosen and the overall winner’s will be announced on the festival’s Facebook page on November 14th along with the other competitions in film & photography. 20 Photographer Projects have been selected as Finalists to be considered for Best Cinematic Image.
