TRAMORE MARITIME FESTIVAL LAUNCH

Tramore coastguardCoastguard Cultural Centre Friday Sept 23th 2016 @ 7pm

Tramore Maritime Festival invites you to join them at their festival opening launch by Deputy Mayor John Carey.

The aim of this new Festival will be to further develop both recent and traditional celebration of “Michaelmas” and “Molly the seaweed doll” that Tramore has celebrated in recent years and in times gone by.

Events will continue throughout the town through Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of September 2016, commencing at 12noon and finishing at 5pm. There will be a variety of family fun events happening over the weekend with activities to suit all ages. All of the events are outdoor such as The Rex Factor Dog Show, music stage and VW exhibition with further plans to include rescue services, maritime heritage talks and art exhibition and more to be confirmed.

We look forward to seeing you at the launch for an amazing art/photo exhibition of ‘Ladies & Maritime’ from our wonderfully talented local ladies, a fascinating talk on the history of Michaelmas (our wonderful “Molly”) by Senator Grace O’Sullivan and the prestigious gifting of ‘Molly’ from the Oceanic’s surf school. It’s a night not to be missed! See you there!
