Artist in Residence John Cullinan
John is a professional artist who works from his own studio / gallery on the outskirts of Tramore. John graduated from the Limerick school of art and lectured there following his graduation. John oversees the Waterford Live Art group every week at the Coastguard Cultural Centre. His work has featured in Saatchi online Figures and Nude collection best of and is held in many private and public collections. His name appears in “Whytes Buyers Guide to Irish Art” 10th edition. Don plays acoustic fingerstyle guitar with a passion that has quickly earned him a reputation as Vancouver’s “best kept little secret”. Don is a world-class fingerstyle guitarist which has lead him to win all the top modern Guitar Competitions in the world, multiple endorsement deals with major manufactures.
The workshop will cater for all levels and will focus on a variety of techniques. The techniques will help build a tonal toolkit for the acoustic guitar that the player will have at their disposal when composing or arranging tunes. The workshop will include exercises and handouts.

Japanese Black Ink Painting Workshop with Karen Colbert – Sumi

Sumi is a workshop for beginners which will take place at the Coastguard Cultural Centre. Learn brushstrokes and techniques for painting grasses, flowers, trees, mountains and landscapes. Japanese Black Ink Painting is a unique art form using only black ink, handmade paper and a special brush. It is a lovely calming and relaxing activity. Join Jess in the beautiful Coastguard Centre in Tramore for a soft lunchtime flow class. A fluid, well-structured class with a strong focus on breath, space and mindful movement sequencing. A nourishing Monday practice which will leave both mind and body refreshed and rejuvenated. All levels of experience welcome.
Please Note: Class will finish on time so those participants on a lunchbreak can get back to work for 2pm!
