Following on a hugely successful premiere of KILLING STELLA at The Everyman Theatre,
Cork last year, and its tour to Belltable in Limerick this year, I’m delighted to announce the show will have its Waterford premiere on Friday September 6th at Theatre Royal.

Stella is dead, the funeral is over and Anna’s husband has taken the children to his
mother’s for the weekend. Alone at last, Anna has two days ahead of her to make sense of
the catastrophe that ensues when she takes the 19-year-old Stella into her home…

Director Regina Crowley and performers Bernadette Cronin (actor/translation/script) and
Eimear Reidy (cello/ composition) create a haunting riddle that will entertain, intrigue and unsettle the spectator all at once, and linger long after the lights come down. New writing, original composition, visual aesthetic, movement and monologue are interwoven to form a finely-tuned and tightly spun tapestry.

Prelude by Mick O’Shea, Lighting Design by Tim Feehily, Set Design by Davy Dummigan &
Costume Design by Valentina Gambardella;
Translated from German and adapted for stage from Marlen Haushofer’s compelling novella ‘ Wir töten Stella’ (Austria, 1958), KILLING STELLA is an unflinching story of collusion in abuse, and the price that has to be paid for remaining silent.
