W.I.T. Arena, Saturday 6th April host the RTE National Symphony Orchestra performing The Symphony of Life.



Three giants of the 19th century, three masterpieces by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra joined by the Fidelio Trio with the outstanding French conductor, Jean Deroyer on the podium. Perhaps three really is the perfect number after all!

Christ Church Cathedral, Friday 17th May host the Irish Baroque Orchestra for Handel at the Cathedral.


Irish Baroque Orchestra returns to the Waterford symphony Club series in the company of world renowned guest director Kristian Bezuidenhout. One the world’s finest harpsichord virtuosos, Bezuidenhout turns his attention towards Bach and the D minor harpsichord concerto with its intricate invention. Bezuidenhout constructs his own invention in the form of a hybrid suite, pairing Telemann’s Tafelmusik and Paris Quartets, before mythological caricatures of Neptune, water nymphs and all the tempestuous moods of the sea are depicted in his famous Wassermusik.

W.I.T. Arena, Tuesday 16th July, National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.

Join the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, for the annual NYOI Summer Proms! NYOI works with the next generation of musicians [age 11 -19] on a full symphonic programme [TBA]. Hundreds of young musicians are auditioned around Ireland every October and they work together with the best professional musicians in Ireland during residential courses to reach the pinnacle of performance.

W.I.T. Arena, Sunday 15th September, Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra.


The Irish Symphonic Wind Orcestra was established in January 2014, having worked together for many years, it’s founding members Keith Kelly and Barbara Dowling endeavoured to put together a high calibre wind band to perform Johan de Meijs Symphony No.1 ‘The Lord of the Rings’. The performance was to be the inception of the Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra, as the ensemble comprised of wind band musicians from all around Ireland. It quickly became apparent that the musicians were very excited at the prospect of performing exceptional wind band music at a very high level.

Mark Heron is a Scottish conductor known for dynamic and well-rehearsed performances across an unusually wide range of repertoire, and his expertise as an orchestral trainer. As guest conductor he has appeared with the, BBC Philharmonic, Philharmonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Psappha, Meininger Hofkapelle, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, Pori Sinfonietta, St Petersburg Festival Orchestra and many more.
