The 13th Waterford Film Festival is open for submissions for short films & short screenplays.
13th Waterford Film Festival is from Friday 22 November – Sunday 24 November.
Last year the festival saw an amazing response from filmmakers and writers with a record breaking amount of submissions for our film and screenplay competition. Filmmakers and writers submitted from 30 countries from across the globe.
This years festival will run between Friday 22nd Nov – Sun 24th Nov and for a 2nd year in a row Central Arts will host the Annual 3 day event in their relaxed and intimate screening room.
The festival is a big supporter of independent film as well as films made by 1st time writers/producers/directors. Each year the festival screens a mix of professional films, 1st time filmmakers and student productions.

The Waterford Film Festival was established in 2007 by local filmmaker Stephen Byrne.His objective was to bring something new to Waterford’s arts and cultural scene, promoting local, national, and international filmmakers and writers, but in particular independent film. Filmmakers from across Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Greece and as far as Canada and USA have attended the festival.
The festival presents short films of a wide range of genres including drama, thrillers, horrors, comedy, Sci-Fi, True stories. Each year we produce a series of events that are creative, interesting, fun and entertaining.
