Central Arts 19th – 22nd April – 8pm
Celebrating their fourth year as a theatre production company, Waterford’s very own Beretta Productions return with their third staged production, Frank McGuinness’s classic Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me. Having tread the boards in 2015 in Garter Lane to great reviews and appreciative audiences the cast have decided to try their hand one more time with this dark and, at times, comic tale in Central Arts for a four night run.
Based on the true story of three hostages held against their will in eighties Lebanon, McGuinness has penned a powerful dramatic play combining poignancy, tragedy and humour.
The characters, a Northern Irish man an American and an English
man, at times battle with their cultural differences but their instinct for survival forces them to realise they are stronger together. Their
imprisonment forces them to explore the power of imagination to escape the daily fear, despair and boredom; making this a play not to be missed! Directed by Clare Smith and starring Darren Malone, Tim Fardey and Dean Sullivan.
