SIN @ SOMA

This Friday the 7th of December, new arts initiative, “SIN” presents an exhibition of contemporary works by artists of Wexford’s Studio Nine to be held at the SOMA Gallery on Lombard Street. Spanning a diverse range of practices the artist led Studio Nine will be represented in this show by Fergus Doyle, Kevin Ryan, Iris Meade, & Tracey Elphinstone. These artists contribute to the collective “WexArt” whom since 2009 have established a platform for emerging artists in Wexford town, creating a thriving and supportive environment for them to work within.

The show represents the initial stages of a countrywide series of touring exhibitions, entitled “SIN” (an acronym for Strength In Numbers), which are to include exchanges between artist led spaces such as Studio Nine & SOMA.

Opening reception will take place on the 7th of December at 7pm with the general public invited to attend. Entry is free & the exhibition is due to continue until the 22nd of December, opening Thursday to Saturday, 12pm to 5pm, or by appointment through contactingJacquelyn Johnson on 0871505625.

SOMA is located at no.6 Lombard Street within the cultural centre of Waterford city, near Reginald’s Tower, Bishop’s Palace and the Theatre Royal. Nearby parking can be found at Bolton Street Car Park.
