The Artlinks partnership of local authorities Arts Offices in Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford is pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s ArtLinks Collaboration Award are County Waterford based artist Sarah Lincoln and the Kilkenny based writer Willie-Joe Meally.
Visual artist Sarah Lincoln and writer Willie-Joe Meally look forward to collaborating in the creation of a moving-image work based around a flooded mine outside Castlecomer in Co. Kilkenny. Tracing the surface route of these flooded mining tunnels they will use words and imagery to reflect upon how the stories and practices associated with the mine still ripple out with meaning today.
Recognising the importance of supporting our artists, the local authority arts offices of Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford, through the Artlinks programme, have been supporting professional and emerging artists living in the south east region through annual bursaries and professional development initiatives . In 2020 we introduced the Artlinks Collaboration Award worth up to €10,000, the aim of which is to encourage more collaboration between artists across the Artlinks counties and support artists seeking to expand their practice and networks regionally.
Artlinks is a partnership initiative of local authorities Arts Offices in County Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford with the Arts Council of Ireland for supports to artists living in the south east region.
