POETRY IRELAND OPPORTUNITIES

May, the start of the summer festival season brings Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival and International Literature Festival Dublin. We’re delighted to bring you lots of great poetry events in both.

Calls for submissions

Publications with forthcoming submission deadlines include Proost Poets (28 May), The Matador Review (31 May) and Nourish (30 June).

Competitions

Upcoming competitions include the Robert Monteith Poetry Competition (21 May); The Bridport Prize (31 May); Yeovil Literary Prize (31 May), Mslexia Women’s Poetry and Pamphlet Competitions (19 June
Also of note is the Clarissa Luard Award for Independent Publishers, a bursary of £10,000 offered by New Writing North for small publishers of UK and Irish literature.

Courses & Residencies

The New School of English, DCU, is now accepting applications for its Masters in Children’s and Young Adult Literature which will commence in September 2017 (apply by 31 May).

The Moth is delighted to present its newly refurbished retreat for writers and artists, which featured in the Homes & Property section of The Irish Times.
