PHYTOGRAM WORKSHOP

GOMA, Saturday 1st February 2025 1 – 4pm

This hands-on workshop will teach you how to make photographs without a camera!

The workshop will be led by artist Artem Trofimenko, f.Project collective member, and will explore the intersection of photography, experimental art and botany.

Participants will create phytogram images using the internal chemistry of plants in conjunction with photographic emulsion directly on photographic film or paper.

This technique allows for the natural chemistry of plants to interact with light-sensitive surfaces, creating organic, abstract images without the use of a camera.

Participants should bring organic material that they would like to experiment with, such as flowers, leaves, petals, seaweed, things that press or lay flat, and translucent enough for light to pass through.

Each participant will get to take away their own unique phytogram.

Saturday 1st February 1–4pm

Max 8 people

This workshop is being offered for FREE to interested participants, however booking is essential.

Please book your spot by emailing info.gomawaterford@gmail.com
