University Hospital Waterford, November Monday 12th at 13:30pm
Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT) will present a live performance by guitar and vocal duo Liam Merriman and Bill Stewart as part of its Healing Sounds programme in the foyer of University Hospital Waterford (UHW) on Monday 12th November. Admission is free and all are welcome. Healing Sounds in the Foyer is a programme of monthly live music performances which aims to promote the positive relationship between music, health and wellbeing and to reduce stress and anxiety for patients, visitors and staff.
Guitarist, singer and songwriter Liam Merriman returned from Nashville last year with Acoustic Rivers, his sixth album, under his arm. For this recording session Liam chose to work with just two acoustic guitars and voice. It comprises 13 tracks including two beautiful instrumental interpretations of Bright Blue Rose and Buachaill Ón Eirne / Thugamar Féin An Samhradh Linn. He will be joined by talented guitarist Bill Stuart. The pair have been playing together for a number of months, ploughing a rich vein of finger picking acoustic guitar based songs and tunes at folk festivals in Ireland and the UK.
