OUR WATERFORD 2040 – CREATING A LOW CARBON FUTURE
Featuring Artist Kathi Burke
Exhibition at The Index Gallery, Central Library
A recent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) study showed that 95% of Waterford people are very worried about Climate Change and yet only 15% feel inspired to become active in taking Climate Action. To reach Waterford’s goals in reducing carbon emissions and to prepare for the future extreme weather impacts that Climate Change may cause, we need Waterford people to not only care about Climate Change but to feel like they can take action.
Our Waterford 2040 tells the story of what a positive Carbon Neutral future might look like. Exhibition features works from Kathi Burke, Central Library Knitting Group, Waterford Young Art Critics, the SETU Design Students, Waterford Sustainable Living Initiative and a Story crafted with Fabric and Light artist led by artist MJ Jacob and The Walton Institute. Organised by Waterford City & County Council Climate Action Team, Waterford Libraries, Europe Direct Waterford and supported by Creative Waterford.
Index Gallery, Central Library Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 10am-5pm, Wed 1pm – 8pm, Sat 10am-1pm & 2pm – 5pm.
