BBC Audio and Music has joined forces with BBC Writersroom to launch The Writer’s Prize: a prestigious new writing opportunity for radio drama and comedy writers.

The BBC is looking to commission the best new ideas across the Radio 3 & 4 networks. We are looking for bold, original new stories with characters that will engage, challenge and entertain an audience.

Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting

Entries accepted from January 31st 2013

The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting is the biggest national competition for playwriting. It is the search for great new plays and great writers. We look for scripts that are original and unperformed, by writers of any experience. The Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Scripts are submitted anonymously.

The prize was established in 2005. Since then, 11 writers have been awarded a total of £120,000, and there have been six full productions.
