Hive Emerging gallery: Open call for ‘Welfare’ Exhibition
DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY (4th)
For the annual Imagine Festival 2013 Hive Emerging will be mounting an exhibition under the theme of ‘Welfare’. Hive Emerging invite artists to submit relevant works for concideration for the exhibition which will run between October 17th and 27th. The work should interpret and explore the theme of Welfare within any medium.
Artists when applying are required to submit:
- images of work including medium, dimensions & price,
- a concise statement outlining the artist and his current/submitted work,
- an artist’s CV
With regards to video and performance art we would require exemplary video as part of submissions.
Submissions will be accepted up until the Friday the 4th of October, 5.30pm through emailing hiveemerging@gmail.com
I remember when we were all on the dole in the 80’s my brother neil organised the screening of some great videos each day – really good films and our house would be packed (all of us were on the dole) and we’d watch good movies – you felt your day was worthwhile and there was good craic and it was social and then people went off and done something like a long walk or whatever (we weren’t just couch potatoes) but we can still remember those films we saw at that time. Maybe Hive could become a cinema club for October?
