NYCI Youth Arts programme is pleased to announce the details of our Summer School programme 2015
Summer School 2015 is a three day residential youth arts practice training in NUI Galway, running from 10th-12th June 2015 (check in on Tuesday 9th June). The theme this year is Story Making. Summer School is about approaching your work with young people in a fresh way. It is an opportunity to be inspired, use new art forms, break out of your everyday routine, network and get creative!
Summer School is suitable for anyone working with young people in the non-formal education sector who wishes to explore ways of introducing, enhancing and extending youth arts provision for the young people with whom they work. It is aimed both at those looking to improve their art form and delivery techniques or those totally new to youth arts.
The workshops on offer this year are:
Story Theatre and Ensemble Improvisation – Annie Ryan of Corn Exchange Theatre will teach improvisation techniques which will allow participants to engage their youth group in story making.
Discover Your Voice – Max Hafler will teach hands on techniques to find and understand your voice and to be able to work through voice with a youth group.
Paper, Story and Space – Maeve Clancy will give you the know how to create comic books and 3D paper models all in the pursuit of storytelling with your youth group.
“I would just like to thank you again for such a great experience. It was a wonderful few days and I’m so pleased I got to meet and work with a wide variety of people. I feel so much more confident now with my approach to working with young people.” Participant Summer School 2014 For booking click on the link below.
