Pianist Thomas Mearon brightens our lunch break on Piano Day!
International Piano Day takes place on the 88th day of the year to reflect the number of keys on a standard piano. In 2019 it falls on 29 March.
The brainchild of German musician/composer Nils Frahm [more info] and his friends, Piano Day began in 2015 to celebrate this marvellous instrument through innovative, piano-related projects. Now an official global body, Piano Day is celebrated all over the world and welcomes all kinds of piano lovers: young and old, amateur and professional, of any musical direction to share the centuries-old joy of playing piano.
