The Large Room City Hall, Waterford on Thursday 8 February 2018 at 7.30pm where pianist Michael McHale and The Vanbrugh will present piano quartets by Mozart, Stanford and Dvořák.
Belfast-born Michael McHale has established himself as one of Ireland’s leading pianists and has developed a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. He has performed as soloist with orchestras in America, Russia, Japan and Europe and collaborates regularly with Sir James Galway, Michael Collins, Barry Douglas, Patricia Rozario, Dame Felicity Lott, the McGill/McHale Trio and Camerata Pacifica.
The Vanbrugh has emerged from the legacy of the legendary Vanbrugh Quartet, whose music has captivated audiences throughout the world. Their Lifetime Achievement Award (2016), from the National Concert Hall, acknowledged their continuous contribution to music in Ireland for over thirty years. Keith Pascoe (violin), Simon Aspell (viola), and Christopher Marwood (cello) of the quartet continue to carry the torch together as the nucleus of The Vanbrugh in their 2018 collaboration with Michael McHale.
