Purpose of the award
The purpose of the award is to support professional artists to develop their art practice. It provides artists with the time and resources to think, research, reflect and critically engage with their art.

Please note: individuals who were awarded a Literature Bursary in 2012 or individuals awarded a two-year or three-year bursary in 2011 or 2010 respectively will not be eligible to apply. An applicant who submits to this funding round will not be eligible to apply again for a Literature Bursary Award in the subsequent round in 2013.

The Arts Council has an online services website. All applications must be submitted through the online services website. You can upload a wide range of support materials in electronic format (up to 40 MB in total) along with your application form.
The window for making an online application opens on 11 June 2013.
Before you will be able to make an online application you will have toregister with the site.
