Joey Whelan, The Spanish Guitar
Following a very well received concert in September 2015, guitarist Joey Whelan returns to the Coastguard Cultural Centre on Friday 4th @ 8pm.
In the early part of his career Joey was influenced by a wide range of music and artists. Upon hearing the music of Julian Bream, however, he was captivated by the sound and repertoire of the Spanish guitar. Joey continues to bring Spanish classical guitar music to new audiences both through his live performances and sales of his CD ‘The Spanish Guitar’. This concert will include music from Villa-Lobos, Turina, Tarrega and Granados.
