If The Lights Change by Martina Collender
“It’s Lilly’s 18th birthday, join her on her journey through her day that will be full of presents she desperately wants and presents she doesn’t. “If The lights change before I count to 3, you’ll never leave me, 1….2….3”
If The Lights Change is a coming of age story, about chance and our need for encouragement, a story about the voices in our heads and the battle for us to listen to them, a story about our past, present and our future.
Written by Martina Collender, directed by Liam Meagher. It is presented by Waterford Youth Arts 15-19 year old drama group. This flagship production has happened every summer for the last 20 years and gives young people the opportunity to work intensively on a play with a professional director. The six-week process culminates with a week of performances at Garter Lane Arts Centre (22nd to 26th August).
