Info: This workshop will focus on how to write an artist statement. We will look at examples of statements from contemporary artists and the key points that you need to make in a statement. If you have an art practice, please bring images of your work in digital or printed format and writing material.
About Jennie Taylor: Jennie Taylor is a fiction and arts writer. She has published her work in Critical Bastards Magazine, The Stinging Fly, Visual Arts Newsletter, and Paper Visual Art. Her practice draws from particle physics, auto theory, and micro-histories. She writes fictional narratives about the material properties of art objects and situations. Through the use of art writing, fictioning, and speculative storytelling, she troubles existing histories and dominant identities. Her practice builds a mosaic of textual gestures that take up space in subtle and effective ways, acting as microscopic and lasting forms.
