Central Arts, Sat 19th Nov @ 10pm

Central Arts is very pleased to welcome back Harbouring Oceans after their last successful gig they played on the Central Arts Stage back in August. Support bands on the night are Cider Wasps & Apaches.

Following blistering performances at Longitude and HWCH, high-profile support slots for artists such as Maverick Sabre and Wyvern Lingo, and the release of their critically acclaimed debut single earlier this year, Harbouring Oceans promise a breath-taking show. “Harbouring Oceans are on the cusp of stardom… Get ready to be impressed” – Hotpress Magazine. Harbouring Oceans incorporate elements from alt-pop, soul, jazz, and electronica into their rock foundations. “Their harmonious vocals carry the same gospel imbued depth of Hozier but gliding effortlessly through a richly opulent, plush organic atmosphere with the dashing allure of early Maroon 5. It’s immediately apparent that Harbouring Oceans is a talented band to watch” – I Heart Moosiq.

Harbouring Oceans consists of childhood best friends Thomas Donoghue and Ken Farrell, brothers Geoff and Benedict Warner-Clayton, and lead singer Dan Pearson. After a decade of playing together in different projects the idea of Harbouring Oceans was born in December 2015.

Cider Wasps are a young four-piece alternative rock band from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford who consist of brothers Danny and Tommy Dunford, Stephen Keating and Colin Drummey. They have been playing together with just over 3 years and in that time space they have managed to achieve quite a lot despite the lead singer still currently being in secondary school. Over the years they had received mentoring and guidance from the late Dennis Sheehan who was U2′s world tour manager for over 30 years. Their music consists of strong harmonising vocals with all 4 members singing, melodic and distorted guitar riffs and a mix of heavy drum beats and basslines. They draw influence from the likes of Kings of Leon and Biffy Clyro when it comes to writing their own music.

Apaches are a 4 piece local Indie rock band from Waterford who take infulences from such artists as Glen Hansard, The Killers, The Coronas, All Time Low, BellX1 and The Black Keys. They played one of the Central Arts Open Mics in the past, so we’re looking forward to seeing them again.
