About the Online Incubator:
Deirdre Dwyer will facilitate this online incubator programme, as part of her Theatre Artist Residency in Garter Lane, to further develop a community of makers interested in the creation of performance work for young audience here in the South East.
This is a paid opportunity for theatre makers, dance artists and performance makers from Waterford, Wexford, South Tipperary, Carlow and Kilkenny to focus their creative minds on making brilliant work for children. Each participant will be paid a fee of €1,000 and any relevant expenses will be covered.
From 20th of July to 1st August Deirdre will facilitate online sessions with the group and invited experts in the field. If it is safe to do so part of the incubator programme will also include trips to the Ark, Dublin and Baboró, Galway in Autumn this year.
Taking social distancing guidelines into account the newly designed incubator will be delivered online. In order to participate you must have access to a laptop and a solid internet connection, if this will be an impediment to your participation please mention it in your application and we will see if we can help.
Over the two weeks Deirdre will facilitate a series of online talks/meetings, for our group of 6 selected participants and provide digital materials to watch, read and absorb. These meetings with various artists/ academics/ members of the sector aim to provide insight into the practice and possibilities of making theatre and performance making for young audiences, in Ireland and beyond.
Guest facilitators will include; Muireann Ahern and Louis Lovett of Theatre Lovett, Marc Mac Lochlainn of Branar and Aislinn Ó hEocha of Baboró, International Arts Festival for children amongst others.
