Are you interested in your local archaeology, history or want to try a new experience? Waterford County Museum are looking for volunteers to take part in our third community dig at Gallowshill, Co Waterford.

In 2018 volunteers with the support of professionals unearthed a fort that was reconstructed on top of an earlier fortification (yet undated). The excavation also revealed human burials on the hills summit.

This year will be a final and exciting opportunity to take part in a unique community project. Volunteers need no experience and will have the opportunity to learn about archaeology, excavation techniques, sorting finds and much more. To book your place phone Waterford County Museum on 058 45960 or Click Here to email.

This years excavation has been kindly supported and funded by the Royal Irish Academy.
