FREE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR MUSICIANS

Online, Thursday 19th & 26th August 2021, from 7pm to 8:30pm

As part of their continuing professional development sessions for musicians, Improvised Music Company are hosting two sessions for musicians this August – on socially-engaged collaborative practice, and on confidence and connection for returning to the stage.

All interested musicians are welcome. Both sessions are FREE to attend, but need to be registered in advance at the links below.

Thursday August 19th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Topic: Socially-engaged and community arts practice: Collaboration, models of work, available supports, and artistic possibilities.

Joining the discussion will be team members from Create Ireland, which supports artists and communities to co-create work of depth, ambition and excellence, and artist Sean Taylor (Softday) who has worked with them on collaborative socially-engaged projects. Create Ireland are also the managers of the Arts Council’s Artist in the Community Scheme and can offer insight into applying for this or other funding opportunities in this area.

Please sign up here.

Thursday 26th August, 7:00pm to 8:30pm

We’ll be joined by Ann-Marie Shields, director of Minding Creative Minds, the well-being support platform for Irish Creatives, and Peter Jack Rainbird, a live music producer and artist mentor who has coached musicians including Taylor Swift, alicia Keys, Sarah Maclaglan, Keith Urban, Daniel Lanois and Björk.
