Hear artist Annie Shaw discuss the incredible work and dedication that goes into the making of her amazing Icons – as well as a demonstration of some of the techniques including egg tempera, gesso, gilding and painting.

Annie Shaw (1951 – ) was born in England and studied Fashion and Textile design in London at St. Martins School of Art. After 10 years fashion designing she retrained as a garden designer. Subsequently winning medals at Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows.

25 years ago she became an Orthodox Christian and soon after started to study iconography. After 40 years garden designing Annie retired to pursue her work as an iconographer. Her icons are to be seen in many Churches and Colleges in the UK and across the world. Annie & her husband moved to Dungarvan, Ireland in 2020.
