Helvick Pier, Helvick, Co. Waterford July 2nd 2017, 12 noon – 12.45pm
The RNLI Helvick Swim & BBQ, scheduled for 12 noon, Sunday July 2nd on Helvick Pier, has become a great fun family day out attracting people from all over the county and beyond.
Brave souls will swim from Ballinacourty, across the seaward entrance of Dungarvan Bay, from 2 points – Ballinacourty Pier to Helvick Pier which is 4km, or a point in the bay off Ballinacourty Lighthouse to Helvick Pier which is 2km.
This event has been held for over 20 years, and the Dungarvan Brass Band has provided musical support for most of those years.
The Dungarvan Brass Band’s performance will begin around 12noon. The Band will perform music from a wide variety of musical genres – jazz, pop, classical, film and even traditional airs. But as well as the Band, there will also be a BBQ, face painting, RNLI stall, DJ and this year even Bungee Jumping. It’s and great family day out, in a very scenic setting, for a very worthy cause – the Dungarvan Bay and Helvick Head RNLI.
