Open Nights will be held at the Dungarvan Brass Band Bandroom at Davitt’s Quay, Dungarvan. (Opposite Garvey’s Supervalu Car park). You are welcome along to try an instrument and speak to some of the teachers and senior members present, with no commitment or charge of any kind.
New classes will start in September and you are welcome to sign up then, or later if you so wish. The Band offers lessons in brass instruments such as cornet/trumpet, horn, tuba, trombone etc, as well as drum kit and other percussion.
Junior classes are open to ages 7.5 years and upwards. Junior members have an opportunity to play with the Dungarvan Youth Band. No previous experience is required and brass instruments are provided by the Band on free loan, which is a great saving for families. Separate adult classes are also available, and many adults who have started with us have gone on to do very well indeed.
All instruments are suitable for Junior and Leaving Cert. Examinations and recognised by international examination bodies such ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall London, RIAM etc.
Nestled in the heart of County Waterford, Dungarvan Brass Band has provided musical teaching, performance and support for other voluntary groups and charities in the local community for over 140 years. Memorabilia such as instruments and photographs from as far back as 1875 will also be on display at the Open Nights.
