Join environmental artist Sean Corcoran on Culture Night for a unique experience on The Copper Coast. This is an opportunity to challenge your senses and absorb your surroundings as the tide and light shifts around you.

Sean had the following to say about the gathering;
“I’ve been working on some sensory ideas, like listening to and walking in nature while blindfold and just being quietly present around a fire pit. While you will be part of a group there will be plenty of opportunity for quiet reflection. Gather sticks, stack some stones and paddle in the sea.
This will be a mindful and creative experience. I’ve done a few overnight and 24 hour events outdoors and I think there is great merit in removing ourselves from our usual environment, even if, on this occasion, it is just for 6 hours. I have found these kinds of events to be refreshing and enlightening. Being part of a group is comforting but I like to think of this as quite a personal and self reflective experience.”
When and where…
The event will start at 6pm on Friday September 17th. A meeting point will be shared in advance with participants that have booked. Proceedings will continue through sunset at 7.39pm, and low tide at 10.12pm and will finish at 12 midnight.
What to bring…
Each participants will be obliged to bring something to share with the group, whether that’s a flask of tea or wood for the fire!
We will be setting up a private Whattsapp group for participants that have signed up. We will use the Whattsapp group to agree the items that we each bring.
Participants will be required to give their feedback by contributing to this Facebook Event Page.
Bring a spare pair of shoes and socks, a warm coat, a blanket.
Bring something to sit on, which could consist of a refuse bag or a beach chair!
Bring something that you can use as a blindfold, like a neck muff or a light scarf.

Bring a torch of some kind.
Bring your phone to take some photos if you like but this is not a time for texting your mother or scrolling through Tik Tok!
Bring hand sanitiser. While this is an outdoor event we would ask all participants to social distance and abide by current Covid guidelines. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or if you are a close contact.
A reasonable level of fitness is required as we will be on our feet and walking for a lot of the time.
