MJ is an Artist, Programme Coordinator & Art Educator.
She has over 10 years’ experience of artistic workshop creation and facilitation, having worked and managed various arts programmes including festival & events, workshops and commissioned artwork.
She has run various workshops and arts programmes with children, adolescents and adults, ran the NDG Arts Walk Workshop Programme in Montreal for two years, was the Artist in Residence with Waterford Healing Arts Trust in 2016 working with patients and staff throughout the university hospital, ran comics creation workshops with Headway in Cork, St Otterans in Waterford and Newport Daycare Centre in Dungarvan. She has presented her work at John Hopkins Medical Campus, and now runs her own business, Mad Jessie, and works part time with the new community centered arts organisation Street Art Ink.
Take your favourite fairy tale and put your own twist on it – Set it in your favourite time period and illustrate it yourself! Participants will come away from this workshop with their own illustrated zine depicting their favourite fairy tale, and they can even be the main character!
