CON FAY WATERCOLOUR

Art lovers will soon have the opportunity to bid on an original framed watercolour study of an oak tree by the well known Waterford artist Con Fay  (1920 – 2006). The painting is being auctioned online and proceeds from the sale of the artwork will go towards supporting the charity event “Kays Camino Challenge 2016” which involves Waterford woman Kay Sinnott Browne undertaking to walk the Portuguese Coastal Way,  Oia to Santiago – the last 133KM of the Camino, in April in aid of Focus Ireland. Kay needs to raise a minimum of €1,700 for this event.  Kay would like to thank Erica Fay, daughter of the late Con Fay, who kindly donated the artwork.  Waterford people may already be familiar with the work of Con Fay as two of his paintings have been included in the Waterford Municipal Collection for many years. Please check Kay Sinnott Browne’s Facebook page where a link to this event and online auction will be posted this weekend. Bidding on this lovely painting starts at a very modest €300 so make sure to get your bid in early!
