Concordia & Waterford Horn Quartet play Music at the Museum
Music at the Museum is delighted to present vocal ensemble Concordia who will be joined by Waterford Horn Quartet on Sunday 9th June at 12.30 pm.
For this Sunday lunchtime concert, Concordia make a welcome return to the Waterford music scene alongside the recently formed Waterford Horn Quartet. In a Classical programme entitled Sunrise, Sunset featuring Schubert, Schumann, Mozart and Mendelssohn; this collaboration will also include Schumann’s 5 Jaglieder, Mozart’s Rondo for Horn and Schubert’s Die Nacht.
Concordia is a male vocal ensemble comprising Waterford based quartet Ruairi de Fréin, Dermot Doyle, Brendan Long and Niall Crowley. Formed in 2009, the group has established itself as one of Ireland’s leading male vocal ensembles. Performing to the highest standards, the quartet has gained a reputation for its innovative and imaginative approach to programming, exploring a wide variety of repertoire with a particular emphasis on music audiences rarely have an opportunity to hear.
Waterford Horn Quartet, featuring musicians Liam Daly, Kevin O’Carroll, Hannah Miller and Gavin Barr, has come together for this exciting collaboration with Concordia. They intend to use the performance space in an imaginative and effective way. A ‘not to be missed’ Sunday lunchtime concert in the wonderful Garden Room at the Medieval Museum.
Ticket entry, as always, entitles the bearer to a guided tour of the Medieval Museum at the reduced price of €2 and a 10% reduction on lunch at the nearby Munster Bar. Tickets are limited so advice is to get there early. Doors at Noon.
