We are delighted to announce that applications for ConCorda 2023 are open. ConCorda will be hosted from 30th July – 7th August 2023 in Newtown School, Waterford led by Artistic Director Katherine Hunka and Course Director Peggy Nolan.
ConCorda is an exciting international chamber music course for young string musicians supported by the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the National String Quartet Foundation and The Arts Council. The course offers an inspiring and transforming musical experience in chamber music, string orchestra and music improvisation. Participants study chamber music intensively at a high level with a staff of Irish and international tutors. ConCorda is open to string players aged 14 – 24 of grade 5 or equivalent playing standard and above.

Please note: a video submission is required as part of your application. The video will be used to organise players into quartets with those of a compatible ability. A video recorded on a smartphone or tablet will be perfectly suitable. It is your playing that we are interested in rather than the quality of the recording. The video should be 3 minutes in duration and of one piece of your choice.
