Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award 2018: Collaborative Arts in Health Contexts
Deadline for applications: 19 November at 5pm.
The Arts Council Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award 2018: Collaborative Arts in Health Contexts aims to support individual professional artists in any art-form working collaboratively in the field of Arts and Health.
The purpose of the Bursary Award is to support and nurture professional arts practice and it is specifically aimed at an artist who has a track record of working collaboratively with communities of place or interest. The Bursary Award of €10,000 provides the selected artist with time and resources to carry out research and to reflect on practice. More particularly, the Bursary allows the artist to consider key questions associated with arts and health practice using collaborative methodologies.
It is expected that the successful applicant will share the learning arising from the Bursary with the wider arts and health community and collaborative arts sector. Create will work in partnership with the Waterford Healing Arts Trust in providing information sessions and on the selection process.
The Arts Council Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award 2018 is focused specifically on the area of collaborative arts in health contexts, as defined by the Arts Council. The award provides artists with the time and resources to think, research, reflect and engage with their practice.
It is aimed at artists who:
- work collaboratively with individuals and groups in the making and interpreting of art within the context of arts and health context and
- consider and prioritise the quality of the engagement at all stages (e.g. in the planning, making and evaluation of work).
