This 2-day intensive workshop covers all of the technical and aesthetic aspects of portrait drawing in several media (graphite, charcoal, and Conté), from the structure and anatomy of facial features to achieving likeness and creating expression to a historical overview of the portrait as it developed from the Renaissance.
You will be shown all aspects of portrait drawing, starting with the technical attributes of drawing the face and head, and then beginning to explore the more expressive qualities of this human subject. On the second day of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to put your learning into practise by drawing a model from life.

– Approach to Classical Portraiture
