This spring for the first time, Shevaun Doherty Botanical Artist is coming to Artform School of Art for a residential art retreat in watercolour ‘Celebrate Spring with Flowers’.
In her workshop, Shevaun will begin with observational drawing and tonal studies, and then focus on how to use colour effectively to convey realistic light and form, demonstrating various watercolour techniques (wet-on-wet, glazing and drybrush) needed to capture the delicacy of spring blossoms.
Shevaun is an award winning botanical artist and experienced tutor, who will demonstrate her painting techniques and give practical advice on how to set up botanical subjects for painting. She will also give guidance on how to choose colours and how to finish and present artwork. With small group, and plenty of one-to-one time with Shevaun, the workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
At Artform we very much look forward to welcoming Shevaun and the guest artists to our studio in the beautiful coastal village of Dunmore East! Artist accommodation in a family inn is available only minutes walk from the studio and the strand. Tuition runs from 10am to 5pm, and all guests artists have 24 hour studio access.
