Cavan County Council arts and heritage offices invites tenders from Musicians / Singers or Musical Facilitators to work with children in Four National Schools in County Cavan to produce a song or piece of music suitable for the children to commemorate and reflect on 1916 Themes. The resulting work will be recorded and performed by the collective of children.
The specific aim is to engage the imagination of the child and connect them with this important aspect of our history through music/choral composition. A historian will visit the schools to support the children’s exploration of the past and in particular the last one hundred years and how it has shaped us as a people.
The project will engage with four schools and a specific class group in those schools.
The nature of the project will be dictated by the strengths of the schools in question.
Timeframe: The work will take place between January and June 2016.
Value for Money/Added Value: Interested candidates need to apply in writing in response to the criteria on the Tender document, clearly indicating relevant arts in education experience, value for money and artistic ability.
