GOMA invites you to Beyond the Gallery; The Dwelling, A community collaboration with a selection of GOMA’s Artists & Community Groups, Funded by Waterford City Council & Ceim Eile.
We have invited community groups to work alongside GOMA’s studio Artists for a ten week period to make contemporary art. The aim of the initiate was to create a contemporary conversation through practice on a response to the urban environment.
Engagement and collaboration was highly encouraged. Participants were guided through the process of approaching art with a focus on process, collaboration, research, discussion and critique. Descriptive language was engaged, analysis, interpretation, getting involved and making subjects personal was both encouraged and guided.
GOMA Gallery is dedicated to innovation, and interpretation of modern and contemporary art, through the use of educational initiatives and collaborations. Our mission is to foster within a society, an awareness, understanding and involvement in the visual arts through policies and programmes which are, innovative and inclusive.
