The Arts Office, Waterford City & Co. Council in association with Waterford Libraries is pleased to host a series of craft workshops in residential and day care settings in Waterford City and County for the Bealtaine Festival, celebrating creativity in older age this month.
Artist Susan Enticknap will lead participants through enjoyable craft workshops using recycled materials to be woven into wall hangings and rose shapes for summer wreaths. This project promotes hand-to-eye co-ordination and the tactile qualities of the fabrics and different patterns are visually stimulating. As part of the process whilst preparing these projects as the participant’s hands are busy, the mind relaxes, and conversations flow. This can lead to good reminiscing, positive recollections, good communication. Happy Bealtaine to all.
