The Artlinks partnership of local authorities Arts Offices in Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford is pleased to announce that it has awarded over €60,000 to artists in the South East. These bursaries for emerging and professional artists are supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. They provide professional development opportunities and supports for artists who are resident in these four counties.
The recipients of over €15,000 in bursaries from the Arts Office, Waterford City and County Council are: Molly Twomey, Lismore/Literature. Deirdre Dwyer, Waterford City/Theatre. Rachel Ní Bhraonáin, Tramore/Dance. Lani O’ Hanlon, An Sean Phobal/Literature. Jenny Fennessy, Lismore/Theatre. Laura McNamara, Dungarvan/Visual Arts. Eamonn Dolan, Dungarvan/Theatre. Eilis O’ Toole, Cappoquin/Visual Arts .Josephine Gibney, Waterford city/Literature. Kathleen Dobbyn, An Sean Phobal/Visual Arts and Ciara Gormley, Modeligo/Visual Arts.
The Arts Office, Waterford City & County Council thanked all the ArtLinks members who made applications and said that the local authority’s support for so many artists to participate in their chosen courses, mentoring and workshops in the current times was an indication of its’ commitment to supporting artists.
The result of the ArtLinks Collaboration will be announced next month. The aim of this award is to encourage more collaboration between artists across the Artlinks counties and support artists seeking to expand their practice and networks regionally.
