ANTHONY COSTINE RETIRES

On the 1st of February 2019 Anthony Costine, despite our best efforts, insisted on retiring.

Seen here appreciating some art, Anthony Costine has been an invaluable member of the Waterford City and County Council Arts Office since 1999.

In honor of all his hard work and talented contribution to the Arts community of Waterford a large group of friends and collegues gathered at the Munster Bar last Friday to wish him well on his retirement.

From the three speeches given by Conor Nolan (Waterford Arts Officer and ex-boss), Jane Cantwell (City Librarian) and Ger Kennedy (Life-long Friend) it was clear that everyone there shared a love for Anthony’s thoughtfulness and sense of humour.

“As well as being a person of great knowledge and expertise around art and the curating of art, what you contributed to the Waterford Arts Office and Waterford Council has been tremendous. ……..I think it’s a sign of the friendship you have in the arts community that the minute you come in the door here there is a sense of warmth and I think that reflects on you as a person”, (Jane Cantwell).

Everyone here at the Arts Office would like to say a huge thank you to Anthony and wish him every luck and happiness in his retirement. We enjoyed working with you and will miss you greatly.
