A BURST OF COLOUR IN GREYFRIARS MUNICIPAL GALLERY
We are delighted to announce that Tony Gunning’s solo exhibition Mount Congreve – a Hidden Treasure will open in Greyfriars Municipal Gallery, Greyfriars Street, Waterford at 7.30pm on Thursday 1st February 2013. Dublin-based artist tony Gunning states: “The exhibition is intended to expose this great national treasure – Mount Congreve – to a wider audience.”
Tony has been a full time artist since 2000. He is attracted by subject matter which observes the effects of social and cultural change in the urban and rural landscape. He paints in the realist style but his diverse subject matter defies labels. Bright colours, blue skies, sharp contrasts and irregular perspective are recurring style motifs in his work. The exhibition Mount Congreve – A Hidden Treasure features many such paintings which highlight the beautiful gardens and flowers of Mount Congreve in Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford, and is sure to delight all visitors to Greyfriars Gallery.
Mount Congreve – A Hidden Treasure continues in Greyfriars Gallery until Saturday, 2nd March 2013.
