28 HOURS LATER… WATERFORD YOUTH ARTS!

28 Hours to make a performance to celebrate 28 years of Ireland’s premier Youth Arts organisation.

Garter Lane, November 24th – 19.00

28 hours to create Magic: The cream of Waterford’s theatrical and creative talent is coming together for a very novel fundraiser for Waterford Youth Arts on Sunday 24th of November. Nearly 50 local adult actors, writers directors, dancers, choregraphers, filmmakers and singers are getting together to raise funds for WYA and they are going to have fun doing so. They will start with a blank page and in 28 hours they will create new short plays, new films, new dance and many other novel creations which will then be seen on stage in Garter Lane 28 hours later. Ollie Breslin explains the 28 hours idea “WYA are 28 years old this year and so we have 28hours to create magic – it is great credit to the local arts community who have agreed to row-in and make this happen and we’ll have great fun over the time creating the new work.”

Many thousands of young people have benefited from the hard work of the team at WYA over the last 28 years and now the arts community are coming back to help them in their hour of need. Among the people who are going to put this huge stress on themselves are: Writers – Martina Collender, Anna Jordan, Alec McAllister, Adam Wallace. Pat Daly and Eimear Cheasty; Directors – Jim Nolan, Edward Denniston, Joe Meagher, Shauna Farrell and Jessica Carri; Actors include – Sinead Bolger, Robert Browne, Ciara Dower, Anarosa De Eizaguirre Butler, Jamie Flynn, Shane Flynn, Conor Halpin (Jnr.), Andrew Holden, Ciara Kavanagh, Nick Kavanagh, Alan King, David Kittell, Ema Lemon, Deirdre Molloy, Damien McDonnell, Beki Moore, Lorraine Murphy, Emer O’Brien, Hugo O’Donovan, Anita O’Keeffe, Shannon O’Reilly, Vinnie O’Shea, Sile Penkert, Jamie Power, Beth Quinlan, Denise Quinn, James Rockett, Aibhlinn Ryan, Clare Smith, Karina Thompson.
