Celebrating diversity
The Irish Flag was raised for the very first time at 33 The Mall on the 7th of March 1848 in Waterford City by Young Irelander, US Army Brigadier General and First Governor of Montana, Thomas Francis Meagher. The 1848 Tricolour Celebration is a commemoration of this major event in Irish history.
To celebrate, there are a whole range of activities, including this fantastic, culturally diverse event: an interSchools Choir Concert with the inclusive theme of ‘Songs of Belonging’.

KEY FEATURES (TBC): De la Salle Choir, Christ Church National School Choir, Tramore Children’s Choir, Newtown School Choir.
WHY GO?: A beautiful range of songs will be performed by the local school choirs in conjunction with the 1848 Tricolour Celebration. The overall theme is inclusion and the event will be a celebration of the contribution of all the diverse groups and communities that make up Ireland today.
